Howling Wolf Moon Session
A site-specific sound, light & art collaboration for Culture Night 2016 @ Old St-Mary's Church, Clonmel by five Tipperary artists
Using the terrain, textures, acoustics and unexpected proportions of St-Mary's Church entrance Hall, we aimed to optimise the breath of its space, the textures of its floor, the widths of its walls and ceiling and the magic of its late afternoon light, enhancing these with discreet contributions, such as a Braided Ivy installation by Theresia Guschlbauer next to a stained glass window, a projected moon on one of the high wall by Paul Kelly, a series of colourful seasonal mandalas by Lyn Mather and a dramatic drawing of a Wolf by Maurice Caplice. The public was invited to participate by contributing to the Wolf drawing and making their own mandalas. To this, sound was added -a mix of ambient, pre-recorded soundtracks layered with live contribution by multi-instrumentalist Brian Byard, which were then remixed and played over. A most successful strand of this collaborative and experimental project.
WOLF SESSIONS @ Designfest
A later project brought collaborators Maurice Caplice and Paul Kelly back together to present an expanded version of the Wold Sessions
