APPLE TREASURES EXHIBITION AND TREE TRAIL

A celebration of the unique Apple Heritage of Clonmel with an interactive apple-themed tree trail and project exhibition through Clonmel’s apple and cider ‘core’

The exhibition took the form of a public participative ‘harvesting’ process over three weeks in September during which members of the public were invited to contribute stories, proverbs, juicy facts, memories and reflections on the theme of apples. An apple-themed tree trail on Culture Night (22nd September) was the culmination of this collaborative research process and artistic inquiry and aimed to ‘presence’ Clonmel’s unique heritage and historical links to apple growing and cider-making with the siting of 17 ‘interpreted’ apple trees throughout the town's core.

Annual clonmel Halloween Walks

For the past five years, 2canDo Arts has worked collaboratively with local community performers, director Catherine McVicker, artists Brigid Teehan and Lyn Mather and community services and groups to produce the annual Halloween zombie walk, a walkabout trail with sideshows and arts installations culminating in a Finale with dance and community performances, a costume competition and band showcase using the Old Walls as a backdrop. This year we introduce for the first time large skeleton puppets to accompany revelers on their walk.

St-PAtrick's day WALKABOUTs

Since 2015, the creative team behind the Clonmel Zombie Walk started contributing walkabout warm-up acts to the annual St-Pat's day Parade, with Highlights from the Fairy Tales in 2015 and Highlights of Irish TV in 2016. A group of ten women also contributed an additional pageant float on the theme of the Women of the Rising.
